VetUpgrade - The Most Relevant Skin Problems in Dogs and Cats in Daily Practice

11 June 2019 - 13 June 2019 | Shanghai, China

Overview

The totality of skin diseases makes up at least a quarter of the day to day consultations in a typical companion animal practice.  Usually these cases will present with “symptoms” that the owner is asking you to “cure”.
Often you won’t have sufficient time to diagnose the underlying disease, so the alternative is to do what the client is asking for and treat the patient symptomatically.  However, because this approach often fails to take in the complexity of the underlying disease, it can lead to problems for the pet and additional costs for your client.
To help you in diagnosing the underlying disease(s) in clinic, these seminars show the “How to” of the approach, diagnosis, treatment and management of pets with skin diseases based on recognition of the clinical signs presented in the form of interactive cases.
In these 3 days you will cover a variety of common conditions, where the animals present with major symptoms of pruritus, scaling, crusting and alopecia.   The diseases will be illustrated with interactive case studies, showing the practical steps you can take to arrive at a diagnosis; identify underlying disease(s), if present, and treatment.  The cause of the disease and the pathophysiology are explained to provide understanding for an easier diagnosis and better treatment.
