Melania Moioli obtained her master degree in Veterinary Medicine at Milan University in Italy in 2010, where she continued her education with a PhD, becoming Doctor of Philosophy in March 2014,  with a research project entitled "Appearance of ossification centers of the limbs and skeletal development in new-born toy-dog breeds: radiographic, morphometric and histological analysis".
From 2011 to 2015 she worked as a freelance in different practices in North of Italy taking care mainly of diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, and emergency.  
In July 2015 she joined the radiology team at the Vetsuisse Faculty of Bern, becoming an assistant professor and resident of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging. In 2019 she completed the residency program and since then, she is working as a clinical instructor at the Diagnostic Imaging division of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the Vetsuisse Faculty of Bern (CH).
She is author and co-author of scientific publications in veterinary medicine on Italian and international journals and presented her projects at different Italian and international veterinary medicine conferences.
