Robert Johnson graduated from the University of Sydney in 1977. He manages a veterinary and zoological consultancy in Sydney, Australia. Robert is a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists (Feline Medicine) and holds a Certificate in Zoological Medicine from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. He is the Immediate Past President of the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) and a director of Vets Beyond Borders. Robert’s research interests include the in situ conservation of the Fijian Crested Iguana, Brachylophus vitiensis and the collection of baseline haematological and biochemical data of captive and free living Australian herpetofauna. Robert is a co-editor of the recently published text, Reptile Medicine and Surgery in Clinical Practice. His pets include Spike the skink (Egernia depressa) and Potty the cat (Felis catus). In his spare time Robert draws cartoons and tries to improve his knowledge of the Chinese language.
