Desiree Siegelmayer is 29 years old and lives near Vienna, in Lower Austria. She is a dedicated veterinarian with experience in small animal surgery and emergency medicine. Currently, she is completing a residency at the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna.
After finishing her studies, she completed a rotating internship at a private clinic near Hamburg, Germany. As she is family-oriented, she returned to Austria and worked as an assistant veterinarian at a Small Animal Surgery Clinic in Lower Austria, where she gained valuable practical experience in surgery, orthopedics, and neurology. To further her academic goals, she served as a doctoral researcher and later as a specialized intern for surgery at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, where she also completed her master's thesis. During this time, she published a case series on "The Reading Man Flap" and a cadaver study on thoracic drainages in cats.
In her free time, she spends a lot of time with her family and friends, plays tennis, and engages in sports. She also uses her spare moments to continue her surgical education and training.
Her goal is to continue specializing in small animal surgery and to expand her expertise through international continuing education and training.
